Tom Hart, 81, of Standish

Thomas George Hart, 81, of Standish, MI, passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 23, 2024. He was born to parents Tennis and Margaret Hart on October 24, 1942 in Standish, MI. Tom graduated from Standish Sterling Central in 1961. Tom worked for General Motors for 32 years where he developed lasting friendships with many co-workers. After retirement, he actively pursued his passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles by riding many trips across the country. In more recent years, he spent his time with his best friend and companion, Judith Raymond, and his dog, Joy.

Tom, known to many as Hunny, was a true jack of all trades, and a master of many. He was loaded with knowledge gained from his many life experiences as a farmer, mechanic, auto body tech/painter, carpenter, husband, and father. Tom would never pass up an opportunity to apply his skills to help an acquaintance, friend or family member. Tom was a hard working, kind-hearted man with an infectious smile. His love and dedication to family was beyond compare.

He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will forever be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his children; Linda (Scott) Esckelson, Roger (Jessica) Hart, Mary (William) Baker. Grandchildren; Katie Osier, Joe (Megan) Osier, Jane Osier (Zach Karpinski), Rachel (Joe) Gaus, Brianna (Patrick) Fellows, Madelyn Hart (Max Bond), Nathan Baker (Mallory Troxell), Nikolas Baker (Emma Banning), and Grace Hart. Great grandchildren; Leo, Stella, Noah, Delilah, Goldie, and Sawyer. Life partner and best friend; Judith Raymond.

He was preceded in death by; a newborn son, Michael John Hart, his parents, Margaret and Tennis Hart, his grandson, Thomas Osier, his brother, Ron Hart, and his great granddaughter, Alice Gaus.

Family and friends may visit at the American Legion, 3221 M-76, Standish, MI 48658, on Saturday, June 8th, from 2pm-6pm for a celebration of life. Sharing of memories at 3pm with dinner to follow.

Tom’s family would like to thank the many physicians and healthcare professionals who touched his life and gave us additional time to spend with him.
