Sherry Poyle, 81, of Rose City

Sherry Carole Poyle, age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at her home in Rose City, MI surrounded by her family. She was born on October 29, 1942, in Detroit, MI to Everett Davenport and Lorene Gambrel.  She was raised by Lorene and her stepfather Morgan Gile. Sherry will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived in Rose City for over 35 years, formerly of Lincoln Park, MI.

On February 8, 1959, she married Donald Poyle in Wyandotte, MI. 

In her journey of life, Sherry touched the hearts of many with her kindness and warm spirit. She was a dedicated and caring individual who always put her family first. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening. Her most cherished moments were times spent with her family.

Sherry is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald Poyle; her children, Debbie (Matt) Boyd, Jeff (Shelly) Poyle, Shelly (Bob) Johnson, and Danny (Linda) Poyle; grandchildren John (Kyle Sawyer) Boc, Nicole Wangler, Morgan Haines, Tyler Boyd, Connor Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Michael (Chelsea) Poyle, Melissa (Dalton) Pennington, Tess Matthews, Matthew Poyle, and Zachary Poyle. Sherry’s presence will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She will also be fondly missed by many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, daughter Vicki Haines, granddaughter Karena Treat, and brothers Morgan and William Gile.

Though Sherry has departed from this world, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by many.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
