Rosemary Raymond, 69, of Houghton Lake

Rosemary Raymond, age 69, of Houghton Lake passed away on Saturday June 1, 2024 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Rosemary was born on August 9, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to Andrew and Sadie (Ciaramitaro) Giacalone. She grew up in the Detroit area graduating from Denby High School. Rosemary was married on July 19, 1974 in Detroit to Patrick Louis Raymond. She worked as a Medical Assistant for St John Hospital in Detroit and later at Mercy of Prudenville. The couple moved to Houghton Lake from Harper Woods 25 years ago. They owned and operated the Play-N-Stay Resort on Houghton Lake up until the resort was made into condos. Rosemary was a member of  St. James Catholic Church and was known as the “family cook” for her excellent cooking. She loved animals, especially her beloved pets. 
 
Surviving Mrs. Raymond are her loving husband of 50 years, Patrick Louis Raymond of Houghton Lake; son, James Raymond of Houghton Lake; daughter, Nicole Raymond of Fraser; granddaughter, Brooklyn Raymond; three sisters, Pauline (Dan) Graham of Farmington, Concetta Giacalone of Clinton Twp., and Patty Boegelein of Carol Stream, IL and several nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents.   

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am on Saturday June 15, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Markey Township.  Memorial contributions in memory of Rosemary are asked to be directed to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter.
