Rick Valley, 74, of Standish

Richard “Rick” G. Valley of Standish, Michigan, passed away on May 25, 2024, at Bay City, Michigan after a brief illness. He was born July 30, 1949 to Ernest and Marie (Raymond) Valley in Bay City. Rick retired from GM Powertrain Bay City after 33 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed working in his garden, and was a diehard Nascar fan. Rick spent many years going “Up North” to Lac La Belle with his beloved wife of 55 years, Betty.

Rick is survived by his wife, Betty (Looker), sons, Rick (April) and Jonathan (Kayla). Grandchildren, Kelsey (Doug) McKay, Richard, Madeline. Great-Grandchildren, Hunter and Hazel McKay. Siblings, Dan (Betty) Valley, Diane (Dave) Valley, and Mary (Phil) Kovacs.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Marie, his son Jim, and his brothers, Roger and Gary, and sister, Yvonne.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home – Standish Chapel with Yvette Chisholm presiding with burial at Resurrection of The Lord Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude’s or Shriner’s Children’s Hospitals in Rick’s honor.
