Patrick Haggerty, 82, of Hale

Patrick Joseph Haggerty, age 82 of Hale, MI., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 24, 2024 in Tawas City, MI. He was born on March 16, 1942 in Detroit, MI., to the late Frank and Margaret (Tucker) Haggerty. Patrick was born into a large family; he was one of eight children. As a young man he joined the United States Army serving in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Patrick took great pride in his work and loved what he did for a living. He reluctantly retired at the age of 82 from Home Depot and worked an entire 60 years of service in sales. Patrick established many dedicated customers that loved him and co-workers as well.

Patrick married the love of his life, Marlene (Foreman) Haggerty in 1997, where he then stepped into the role of father lovingly. Soon after they bought their property and moved their family to Hale, MI. They spent the next 24 years doing everything northern Michigan had to offer. Patrick’s greatest enjoyment was anything to do with his grandchildren (sporting events, award ceremonies, school concerts, graduations, and holidays). Patrick loved traveling with Marlene, so much that they bought a motorhome, where they traveled all over the country. Family get-togethers at their home were always the warmest (bonfires, sunsets, music, and reminiscing on memories). Patrick was a Precinct Delegate and a member of the Iosco County Republicans. Patrick is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Michael (Brandy) of Columbus, OH, Jennifer (Sam) Hale, MI, Kristy (Derrick) Livonia, MI, Paula (Kodi) of Hale, MI, Greg (Suzanne) of Tawas City, MI, TJ (Erin) of Belgrade, MT, and Colleen of New Orleans, LA; brothers, Ed, Frank, Brian, Terrance; sisters, Noreen, Mary Ellen, Eileen; grandchildren, Sam, Kori, Katlyn, Christian, Savannah, Nathan, Cheyenne, Bishop, Madison, Lexi, Mikayla, Gabrielle, Lawrence, Mya, Lalita, Ayla, Payton, Hunter, Vaden, and Aeris. great-grandchildren, Danielle, Christian, Alana, Nash, and Weston (on the way), and nieces and nephews.

Patrick is preceded in death by his parents, and grand-daughter, Amanda. The family will hold services for Patrick at the Hale Baptist Church 327 N. Washington St. Hale, MI 48739, on July 2, 2024. Visitation from 1pm-2pm. Funeral service at 2pm, followed by interment at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery. Military honors provided by the Hale VFW. Pastor Todd Vossen officiating. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the graveside service. An online guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com to share condolences, memories, and photos of Patrick.
