Nancy McBride, 82, of Alger

Nancy Elizabeth McBride, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her home in Alger, MI. She was born on April 8, 1942, in Republic, MI to Loren and Alice (Kuuela) Winsten. She lived in Alger since 2007, formerly of Allen Park, MI.

Nancy was a beloved, respected top operator at Universal Tube Inc. (UTI) for 16 years, where she garnered respect and admiration from all who knew her.

Known for her vibrant personality and kind heart, Nancy was a fun-loving individual who always carried candy in her purse. She became known as the “candy lady” among her friends and family. With a zest for life and a warm smile, she affectionately acquired the nicknames “Fancy Nancy” and “Glam-Ma,” showcasing her love for glamour and elegance. Nancy (mommy) was all about family. If she had her way, all her children and extended family would be living in the same home.

In her leisure time, Nancy enjoyed scouring garage sales for unique finds and treasures. She found immense joy in the company of her dogs, Misty, Cody, and Dusty, whom she cherished dearly. She was a member of the New Beginnings Lutheran Church in West Branch.

Nancy is survived by her daughters Susan, Kimmy (Gregory), and Sherry (Frankie); grandchildren Tiffany, Courtney, Ella, Brittany, and Garett; siblings Cookie, Chuck (Kathy), Patrick (Dorothy), and Debbie (Willy); along with many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, daughter DeeDee, and siblings Loren and Laura.

A Graveside Service to honor and remember Nancy will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Alger Cemetery in Alger at 3:00 PM. The Reverend Daniel Jansen will officiate.

In lieu of flowers and memorial contributions, give your family members a hug.

Nancy Elizabeth McBride will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all those whose lives she graced with kindness, joy, and love. May she rest in peace.
