Lance Koschtial, 82, of Roscommon

Lance Dene Koschtial, age 82, of Roscommon, died on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lance was born August 22, 1941, in Dearborn, Michigan, the son of Harry Koschtial and Owenna (Howe) McTaggart. Lance was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed trapping. When Lance was not in the woods, you could find him playing euchre, poker, or shooting pool. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus. Lance worked for the Department of Natural Resources, blending his love of nature and hard work. He retired from the Parks and Waterways Division after 38 years. Lance could also occasionally be found at the VFW or the Moose Lodge.

Lance will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by children: Daniel Koschtial, Vanessa (Glenn) Hodges, Julie Koschtial, David (Margaret) Alstead, Dan (Jennifer) Alstead; grandchildren: Natasha, Rhett, Lainey, Reid, Kyle (Katie), Mandy, Jenna, Andrew, Luke; brother, Michael (Lori Schneider) McTaggart; as well as cousins, and many friends.

Lance is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roma; son, Brent; and his brother, Kaye.

Family and friends will gather from 2:00-6:00 PM, on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral Service will be at 6:00 PM, on Friday, June 28, 2024, also at the funeral home.

The Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Pioneer Cemetery in South Branch Township, Michigan.

For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/wagnerandwalshfuneraldirectors.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
