Mr. Donald Lou Barrett, Sr 85 of Hillman, Michigan passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 peacefully at home. He was born in Alpena, Michigan on November 22, 1938 to Thomas and Murriel (Duncan) Barrett. He was a graduate of Hillman High School. Don married Sharon Nancy (Cohoon) Barrett on June 11, 1960 and together they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his passing. After he was honorably discharged, he worked at General Motors as a material handler for a total of 30 years. Don was always a patient, caring person. He would stop what he was doing to help anyone and always took care of his neighbors. He is and will be truly missed.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Barrett of Hillman; children, Robin (Red) Husted of Lewiston; Donnie (Patty) Barrett of Grand Blanc; Nancy (Patrick) Thomas of Rochester; grandchildren, Darin (Sara) Plinski of Clarkston; Adam (Gabby Byers) Barrett of Clio; Ashlee (Dan) Hanson of Burton; Veronica Thomas; Nadia Thomas; Tyler Thomas; Jada Thomas all of Rochester; great-granddaughter, Emily Plinski of Clarkston; great-grandsons, Matthew Plinski of Clarkston; Caleb Hanson of Burton; Ethan Hanson of Burton; and great-grandson-to-be, Oliver; brother-in-law, Larry (Janet) Cohoon of Hillman; and many nieces and nephews.
