Bev Dining, 60, of Alger

Beverly Jean Dining (Bev), peacefully passed away, Friday, June 21, 2024, with family and friends by her side. Bev was born November 6, 1963, in West Branch, MI to Hugh and Mary (DeShano) Dining.

Beverly graduated from Mancelona High School in 1983. After graduation, she returned to her hometown Alger, where she lived out her remaining years. She worked and retired from Outdoor Adventures in 2019 where she maintained and operated the pools. Bev enjoyed sports, coaching kids’ baseball in Alger, and she also played women’s softball herself. She also received numerous trophies for shooting women’s pool. Her all-time passion was playing cards and any kind of games, Cribbage, Yahtzee, and Poker. If she could bet on it, she would play it. Mondays were her favorite because it was her game day with family and friends. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers whether they won or lost.

Bev is survived by her two sisters, Tammy (Dennis) Spencer, Anna (Matt) Charnoske, and brother Hugh (Lisa) Dining. In addition to her immediate family, she will be remembered and always loved by many nieces and nephews. Also loved by her dear friend of many years, Jimmy Donnley, and extended family, Sue Sheltrawn, and Stacy (AJ) Dishaw. Bev was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hugh and Mary Dining.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
