Savannah (Hershberger) Beachy Borntrager, age 87 years, 7 months, and 16 days, of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Savannah was born in Middlefield, Ohio on June 14, 1936, to Moses M. and Lavina (Byler) Hershberger. She married Daniel Beachy, living in Matrimony for 59 years, 3 months, and 7 days. After his passing, she married Samuel Borntrager, living in Matrimony for 9 months and 7 days.
Savannah is survived by her children: Owen (m. Esther Lambright) Beachy of Mio, MI; Miriam (Vernon) Helmuth of Alexandria, SD; David Beachy of Bloomfield, IA; Allen (m. Irene Beechy) Beachy of Holton, MI; Raymond (m. Rachel Troyer) Beachy of Mio, MI Homer (m. Edna Mae Schmucker) Beachy of Mio, MI; Irene (Levi) Lambright of Ashley. MI and Elnora (Jonathan) Breon of South Shore. She is also survived by her sister Cora Gingerich; 61 grandchildren, and 84 great-grandchildren. Savannah was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: Daniel Beachy and Samuel Borntrager, her daughter Lorene Beachy (Jan.19, 1964 – May 24, 1964), two grandsons, one granddaughter-in-law, and six sisters.
Visitation on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 2 – 8 PM at the David Bontrager Residence, 689 E. Kittle Rd., Mio, MI, and also on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 1 – 8 PM, with Evening Singing beginning at 6:30 PM. Funeral Services on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 9:30 AM with Bishop Lester Miller officiating. Serving as Pallbearers are Jerry T. Miller, Samuel Gingerich, David O. Yoder, Michael Gingerich, David Weaver, Jr., and Timothy Kauffman. Interment at the Fairview Amish Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
