Stork Drop event

WEST BRANCH-  MyMichigan Health Foundation is hosting their annual Stork Drop on Fri., June 14,  from 12- 1 p.m. at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch. The event features a helicopter golf ball drop, as well as music, yard games, and food and beverage available for purchase. Each golf ball has a number on it that corresponds to a ticket. The owner of the winning golf ball, or the one that lands closest to the pin will receive a $1,000 cash prize. Proceeds from the Stork Drop event benefit the Maternity Center at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch.

“We are excited to continue this annual event to support our Maternity Center at the Medical Center,” said Kelsey Killinger, fund development director, MyMichigan Health Foundation. “Since 2021 when we returned maternity services to the West Branch community, we’ve welcomed more than 350 babies into the world.”

The Maternity Center features three private care rooms plus four private birthing suites where moms can stay in one location throughout their hospital stay, from labor and delivery through recovery and postpartum care. Rooms are designed with the family in mind, offering more space and comfortable accommodations for the baby and support partner to stay with the mom.

In addition, the Maternity Center includes a state-of-the-art operating room for cesarean sections; a nursery for when babies need monitoring or special procedures; an advanced security system, and in-room refrigerators for patients to keep their favorite refreshments close at hand.

Earlier this year, MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch was granted a new designation as a “Maternity Care Access Hospital” from U.S. News & World Report, which recognizes hospitals provide access to vital maternity care services in their community.

Tickets are $10 per ticket or six tickets for $50, one ticket equals one golf ball. Participants need not be present to win. A special note, if less than 200 tickets are sold, the cash prize will be $250.
