Theodore "Ted" LeForge, 96, of Saint Johns went to be with his Lord Saturday July 25, 2020 at home while his loving family was by his side.

Ted was born on April 22, 1924 in Linton, Indiana to Theodore and Louise (Jeffers) LeForge. He grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Redford High school, then attended Detroit Business College and received his Associates Degree. Ted served as a Sergeant in the Army during World War II. He spent his service time as a surgical tech in the Army Air Corp. His duties included assisting in surgeries and going on search and rescue missions of downed aircraft in China, Burma and India. On September 16, 1961 in Livonia Ted was married to Wanda M. O'Nan. He owned and operated George Instrument Company which specialized in the manufacture and sale of industrial temperature controls. The couple moved from Southfield to the Houghton lake area in 1974. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, but his true passions were his service to the church: Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church, and spending time with his family. His service to the church included acting as elder and/or trustee and maintaining health insurance for all pastors in the district for 16 years. Ted was also a member of the Lake City American Legion.

Surviving Mr. LeForge are his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda M. LeForge of St. Johns; two sons, Gene (Lois) LeForge of Midland, and Tim (Amy) LeForge of Ionia; grandchildren, Kyle(Susie), Christina(Nathan), Jonathon, Nathaniel, Ryan, Andrew, Paul(Rhei) and Amy; great grandson, Peter; great granddaughter, Sarah; two sisters, Martha LeForge, and Sharon Fuller both of Holland, MI; nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darlene Kissel; two sisters, Roberta LeForge and Beth LeForge; and brother, Robert LeForge.

Funeral Services for Theodore "Ted" LeForge will be conducted at 1:00pm Monday August 3, 2020 from Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church with Rev. Bryan Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Westland, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday August 3, 2020 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm at Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church. Memorial contributions in memory of Ted are asked to be directed to Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
