Donald Eugene Henry, age 82, of Grayling, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, in Traverse City, Michigan.

Don was born July 8, 1936 in Donegal, Pennsylvania, the son of William and Lillian (Atwell) Henry.

Don married Shirley Babock on October 3, 1998 in Grayling, Michigan.  He grew up in Wellsburg, West Virginia.  Don served his country in the United States Air Force.  Don and his family had the opportunity to live in several different places.  He moved back to West Virginia after his enlistment; then Flushing, Ohio; Louisiana where he served in the Army Reserves for 10 years; Tennessee; and last but not least, the great state of Michigan. Don enjoyed sitting outside reading his books.  He liked watching western movies.  Don loved to travel with Shirley.  Don will especially be remembered for enjoying the time spent with family.       

Don will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley of 20 years; his sons: Donald Henry of Kentucky, Donald (Tina) Henry of West Virginia; daughter Lorraine (Mike) Pointer of Missouri; step-children: Robert Myers of Ohio, Robin (Wilbur) Jones, Romiley (Glenn) Bartholomew, Cora (Tim) Watson, Carol DeVault, Larry (Dawn) Reynolds, James Reynolds, all of Michigan, Ralph (Dawn) Reynolds of Alaska; his nine grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brothers: Tom (Carmen) Henry, Raymond (Bonnie) Henry, Kenny (Donna) Henry, Ritchie (Judy) Henry, John (Bernice) Henry, Joe Henry, Ronnie Henry; sister Marge Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.     

Don is preceded in death by his parents; two wives; brothers: William, Jr., James, and Charles Henry; his sister Norma Koren; and four stepchildren.

 Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the time of the Funeral at 3:00 PM, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.

The family prefers memorial contributions please be made to Don’s wife Shirley.
