Beulah V. Bradley, age 94, of Roscommon, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Roscommon.

Beulah was born Tuesday, January 26, 1926 in Lake Odessa, Michigan, the daughter of Robert “Chet” and Clara (Leopard) Hesterly.  She married Max A. Bradley on February 14, 1946 in Lake Odessa, Michigan and moved to Roscommon that same year.

Beulah’s passion was her family. She was very proud and supportive of them.  Besides being a homemaker, she showed her talents in many areas over the years.  She helped with the reforestation of Michigan working at the Conservation Department nursery at Higgins Lake, harvesting seedlings to be planted throughout the state.  She also worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone, a teller for the Roscommon State Bank and at the local canoe liveries.  With her husband Max, she owned and operated the Roscommon Dairy Queen.  She was a very active organizer for the local American Cancer Society.  For several years, Beulah created beautiful, natural holiday decorations for Roscommon residents.  As a longtime member of First Congregational Church she served as treasurer, taught Sunday school and was active in the Church’s Women’s Fellowship program.  Whether at the family home in Roscommon or for large groups at their winter home in Florida, Beulah loved gatherings and the preparations for them.  This was also evident in her support in the kitchen for both her church and while working at the Roscommon school cafeteria.

Beulah loved to play cards and board games with her family and friends and enjoyed the social aspect of the games.  She also enjoyed puzzles, the more complex the better.

She will be remembered by her family for the love, support, and encouragement she gave them over the years.

Beulah will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She is survived by her three children Max Duane (Penny) Bradley, Kirk (Mona) Bradley, and Scott (Lori) Bradley; son-in-law John Vick; grandchildren Keri, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Joshua, Graham, Samuel, Sarah, Nicholas, Jennifer, and Douglas; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Beulah is preceded in death by her parents, Max (her beloved husband of 73 years), her daughter Carol Vick, and four sisters: Fern, Helen, Iris and Bernice.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service that will be held at the First Congregational Church,109 South Main Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15th. The family will begin accepting friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
