Arthur William Vogel, age 85, of Grayling formerly of Saginaw, died on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Lighthouse of Roscommon.

Art was born on September 17, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan to William and Kathleen (Diffel) Vogel.  He married Doris Ann Klemish on October 4, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Art enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was known to them as “Papa” and “Grandpa Art”.  He loved everything that had anything to do with the outdoors: boating, skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, and hunting, just to name a few.  Art’s family will always remember him for being a jack of all trades.  He was very mechanically inclined which allowed him the opportunity to own and manage many different businesses throughout his life.

Art will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He is survived by his beloved wife Doris of 66 years; children: Bonnie (Gordon Eden) Vogel of Grayling, David (Elizabeth) Vogel of Roscommon, Diane (David) Howard of Saginaw; grandchildren: Nikki (Jason), Rusty (Jean), Amanda (Chris), Andrea, Vanessa, Sean (Kim), Ryan (Sarah), David (Tania), Brian (Lauren), Jessica (Paul); 12 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Art’s family has chosen to remember him privately at this time. The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Art’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Crawford County Commission on Aging.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
