  • Camel Races held in Houghton Lake

    HOUGHTON LAKE - Camel Races were held Oct. 13 at the Prudenville Columbus Hall. Hosted by the Houghton Lake Rotary and Kiwanis groups, the event was well attended. Camels were decorated by various organizations, and ‘raced’ down a table track, moving forward a space if their number was drawn. “Housey”, Midge & Co.’s horse, was the overall winner.

  • Snowmobile Trail No. 7 in Otsego County to open Dec. 1 for snowmobiling season

    GAYLORD - An 11-mile trail segment that currently is being improved along Snowmobile Trail No. 7 in Otsego County will reopen Dec. 1 for the snowmobile season. The ongoing project, which will make way for additional year-round motorized and non-motorized trail use, will continue construction this spring.
